How I got started on this path
My path into education began as a stay-at-home mom with a growing interest in my children’s learning. Volunteering in their classrooms led me to become a teaching assistant in special education, where I discovered a passion for supporting diverse learners. After earning my degree in Psychology with a minor in Teaching, I spent ten years as a reading and writing teacher before transitioning into my current role as a dyslexia instructor.
I am currently graduating with a Master’s in Literacy Education from Texas Woman’s University and completing my CALP certification through Shelton’s Multisensory Teaching Approach (SALA). My goal is to continue working with elementary students in dyslexia intervention and advocate for literacy access and equity for all learners.
